A Texas native, Ms. Talbert graduated from Baylor University with her degree in Political Science & Economics.  After graduating from college, Ms. Talbert served three years as a Legislative Aide and Engrossing & Enrolling Clerk at the Texas State Capitol performing bill analyses, consulting with lobbyists, government officials, and interest groups to provide sound recommendations to state senators, and preparing bills for the Governor’s signature.

In March 2010, Ms. Talbert joined the U.S. Navy.  She served four years of active duty service before resigning her commission in order to attend law school.  In 2017, Maresa graduated from California Western School of Law, and was subsequently licensed as a California attorney.

Prior to joining FPLG, Maresa worked as a solo practitioner of Talbert Law Office, a law practice focused on business & intellectual property law.  Maresa is highly engaged in public interest work, including economic development, criminal justice reform, and social justice. She continues to serve the San Diego community in various capacities and in the U.S. Navy Reserve.
