Zachary Avina, Esq., MBA

Associate Attorney

Zach Avina is an Associate Attorney at FPLG. Mr. Avina is originally from a small town in Northern California, but earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Psychology, as well as his Master of Business Administration from Philadelphia University in Pennsylvania. He then earned his Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law, with a focus on business law and labor and employment.

During law school, Mr. Avina was on the Dean’s Honor List for Academic Achievement, and he was a member of the Pro Bono Honors Society. In his last year of law school, he was honored to receive the James P. O’Neil Scholarship, which is awarded to a student with sufficient academic merit who demonstrates an interest in and proficiency for pro bono work and entrepreneurship.

After law school, Mr. Avina took and passed the California Bar Examination on his first attempt. In addition, he is soon to be barred in Washington, D.C. (pending admissions finalization). Prior to joining FPLG, Mr. Avina worked for two years at a San Diego litigation firm and practiced construction law, labor and employment law, and general business law.

In conjunction with this work, Mr. Avina served – and continues to serve – as the Chairman and Executive Director of a nonprofit organization that he founded in 2017, which is aimed at promoting second chance employment opportunities to formerly incarcerated individuals – while also providing support for the businesses that hire them – in an effort to bridge the gap.

When Mr. Avina is not assisting FPLG’s clients, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling the world, and reading suspense novels.
